okee dokee, i really want to submit my new painting which i just finished but I'm not steady on the internet (just as it's back up, norton has gone down and i lent it to my sister) so here's something completely different.

Interesting... looks to me like you've taken a pic of girl coming out of the water and made it look like she's drowning. If that's the case, it works quite well. I particularly like the little splashes of water and scratchiness, makes it look like it was being take with a camera with a scratched lens that just got scratched.

Interesting stoofs.

okee dokee, well the texture bit was horrible... it involved me spending a few hours in my dank basement looking for old paper and books. I have a lot of ancient trunks full of strange things, I found some paper, the more torn and stained the better. I scanned them at 1200 res so i could use them over really large images if needed. If I found a really good scratch or stain, i selected it, contrasted it, and made a brush of it. (once you've selected an image you go to edit: define brush) I've made textures of old books, leather, paper tears, cloth, handmade papers, tape, and lots of other odds and ends. And brushes from those textures.
for this image I just kept layering them on until i got the look I felt was right, also layered are several shots of water, some my own, some from inertia...
