I see people everyday, the same people. I see them but I don't know them, not really. These are people I've been in school with for years, people I serve coffee to three times a week, the same clerks at the same shops, the same waiters at the same pubs. People I see more often than friends and family, but only have a brief knowledge of. Little pieces of information are added after each encounter, enough to feel like I have a character sketch. But out of our contexts, I am unsure as to how we fit. Do we talk outside of class? Do we banter when I'm not handing them coffee? I see them all the time, but I don't know them, not really. These are Some of the People I Don't Know. (a catalogue) subject: Jason camera: Holga film: portra vc scanned with imacon
This is how I feel sometimes when I see old students if mine. We spend three hours in the same room every week for a year. Do we know each other? If I see you how familiar should we be? Is it rude not to say hi or is it weird to have tutors approaching you after you've finished your course? Even though we've spent 600+ hours in the same room interacting it's like we're only friends of friends, or your someone I met at a party once.
weird.

This photo makes me think of someone sitting in a shrink's office, trying to make themselves explain what's going through their mind, though they're extremely uncomfortable.
