the troubled sleep of phantoms by `cryptorchid:iconcryptorchid:

Listens to watch
Watches as it keeps
Tick tock ticking
Feels stars super nova in her
solar plexus
Fills her with warm humming
Hum like radiator humming
Radiating heat
To face flushed with fever -
ed cheeks cooled by chilled palms
Inevitability hangs over head
noose waiting for neck
wringing pale hands
lips numb and cracking
cracked that glass
seven years passed
a haze of tears
tearing
thin skin of wrists scented with
camphor, menthol
& lemon tea sits stewing with sugar so sweet-
Vitamins
From the vital man
Who said “get well soon”
Sooner than expected
a Nurse without patient
impatient
her movement
Without thought
Thought-less about the written word
Wrote those words
On lined paper
Between the lines
reeling with situation
unreal
Scent lingers absorbed by material
Of materialism
Belongings not belonging
To her
Parting with so many things
That mean no thing
Tangible proof of existence
Evidence of entrance after
exit
pages of flipbook stuck
together we grieve for a ghost

No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.

Excellent work..my great grandmother passed on this time last year and my girlfriend's passed on a few weeks ago...so this kinda fits the mood I have when I think of them these days...

It's not a very smooth rhythm but I think I like that about it...fits the piece well...

I got lost durring Final Exams...that date ever happen with your computer friend eh?

hi julia! this is so wonderful. i love the rhythm. it's fantastic -- the circles and loops this writing takes, it reminds me of a phantom. ghost-like circles, as soon as i was ready to move onto the next line, the next line contained a part of the previous line and that was such a joy to keep experiencing. excellent word play. great piece!!

This reads like a beautifully introspective song, outright in truth but delicately worded to convey the thoughts appropriately. I'd love to see the final piece of art.

i'm not one for good writing so i'm not going to even try and talk about yours in detail, thought i think the image is really neat, its very styleistic (sp?) i really enjoy what you've done with the color of the images and the older look
well done
